Country Update: Mozambique

Mozambique faces a humanitarian crisis with over 850,000 internally displaced people, driven by insurgent attacks and the severe impact of the climate crisis, exacerbated by recent cyclones. The UNHCR, tasked with support operations, has only secured 51% of the required funding. Additionally, insurgent movements persist in the southern region of Cabo Delgado, leading to increased military operations, fear among local populations, and reports of brutal attacks, signaling a concerning escalation despite the presence of Rwandan and SADC forces.
