18 October 2021 – The military acted on a revenge operation and invaded Izombe in Oguta LGA of Imo state and burnt down the village, resulting in the death of Faith Okebata who was 36 years old. Mrs Okebata was attempting to save her mother-in-law, who had a stroke 7 years prior and could not get out of the house after the soldiers set it alight. She later died in Federal Medical Center, leaving behind her husband and 4 children.

20 October 2021 – Benue state Governor, Samuel Ortom, states that the current insecurity in Nigeria is because of the influx of foreign Fulani people that have been moving into Nigeria’s communities without being checked properly. Ortom also addresses the traditional institutions and rulers and shows appreciation for the role that they play in maintaining a peaceful coexistence.

21 October 2021 – 123 passengers were abducted from a Volvo Marcopolo luxury bus travelling between Owerri, Imo state to Abuja. Around 1:20 am armed bandits, intercepted the bus right after the Ena river along the Ubiaza express road and abducted the passengers and bus driver. However, 2 people managed to escape through the windows and into the forest with one of the escapees being rescued later by a hunter at Okhuessan forest. The person who escaped recalled all the bandits to be carrying AK-47’s and being associated with the Fulani tribe.

21 October 2021 – Top Headlines in Nigeria that were reported this week include:

1. Turkey President Recep Tayyip Erdogan calls on President Buhari to work in collaboration, as he believes Fetullah Terrorist Organisation (FETO) is still active in Nigeria and they are the reason for the coup against him in 2016.

2. The Kaduna State Governor, Nasir El-Rufai calls on the federal government to declare bandits as terrorists, thus appropriate military action can be taken.

3. The Minister of Information and Culture, Lai Mohammed, denied all the allegations that deaths occurred during the #EndSARS protests in 2020.

4. Police blame IPOB for the death of 2 traditional leaders, as well as the attack of 20 monarchs.

5. The APC Senator, Shekarau from Kanu Central, claims that he and his supporter will not “be fooled” by the Kano state Governor, Abdullahi Ganduje.

6. Police claim the reason for firing tear gas at protesters holding placards on the 1st anniversary for #EndSARS was to ensure there was no breakdown of law and order.

7. The Kaduna state government released an official figure, confirming that in the past 3 months more than 830 people were kidnapped, 343 people killed, and 210 injured.

8. The Buhari Media Government (BMG) accused Bukole Saraki (former Senate President) of trying to “paint the government black” to make political capital.

9. Governor Bello Matawelle was accused by Governor Mahdi Aliyu Gusau of making him seem “irrelevant”, as

Governor Gusau refused to drop PDP (the People’s Democratic Party) for APC (All Progressive Congress).

21 October 2021 – Around 7 pm the Isiala Mbano LGA Divisional Police Headquarters was attacked then set ablaze by unknown gunmen, who also freed suspects, in Imo state. The police officials ran away immediately as they feared for their lives.



Catholic Priest attacked by herdsmen in Enugu

21 October 2021 – Rev. Fr Cornelius Okoye, a Vicar of St. Theresa’s Parish Agulu and Catholic priest, was attacked by armed Fulani militia along Amansea/ Ugwuoba, Enugu Onitsha Expressway, Enugu state. Rev. Okoye says that when he was attacked they shot sporadically and tried to open up his heart with a knife, however because of a thunder strike, he managed to escape and the Fulani’s ran away.

BREAKING: House Of Reps Member Intercepted By Troops With 54 Ak-47 Rifles,119 Pump Actions & Thousands Of Ammunition In Anambra

26 October 2021 – After receiving a tip-off, a team consisting of military and police personal in Oyi LGA, Anambra state intercepted a large cache of ammunition and arms travelling on a convoy for a member, Hon. Chinedu Obidigwe, that represents the East and West of Anambra in the House of Representatives. There were several vehicles found to be carrying a total of 119 pump action rifles, 54 assorted AK-47’s and thousands of ammunition. Hon. Obidigwe refused arrest and to exit his bulletproof vehicle calling Gov. Willie Obiano for assistance, however, he was eventually escorted to Ukpo, zone 13 Police Headquarters.
